Saudi energy minister says Riyadh is a capital of energy security

Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman called Riyadh a “capital of energy security” at an international energy ministers’ meeting there.

He said Saudi Arabia would keep supplying energy reliably and meet its commitments to global markets.

The meeting opened during Energy Week and brought energy leaders together to discuss challenges facing the sector.

The minister said international cooperation was needed to strengthen energy security.

He pointed to the East-West Pipeline, which can carry crude oil from the Eastern Province to export facilities in Yanbu on the Red Sea.

The route gives Saudi oil an alternative path to international markets.

The meeting was intended to encourage practical cooperation, while Saudi Arabia said it would continue its plans and work on pipeline routes.
