Knicks could extend Towns and Hart while staying below NBA salary threshold

The New York Knicks may be able to extend Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart while staying below the NBA’s second-apron salary threshold in 2027-28.

ESPN analyst Bobby Marks says contract structures could let the team keep both players.

He said Towns and Hart would consider team-friendly deals to help preserve the Knicks’ core.

The possible extensions are not confirmed.

Keeping the team below the threshold could become harder in later years if Jalen Brunson becomes eligible for a maximum extension, which could raise his salary from $43 million to $64 million.

Miles McBride is also eligible for an extension.
