Kings center Maxime Raynaud has right knee injury, will be checked in two weeks

Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud injured his right knee during a preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

The Kings said he suffered a patellar subluxation, in which the kneecap moves partly out of its usual position.

An MRI ruled out serious ligament damage, but Raynaud could not put weight on the leg after the injury.

The team plans to reevaluate him in two weeks, and he is expected to be out for at least that long.

Raynaud was named to the All-Rookie second team last season after averaging 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in 74 games.

He is expected to back up starting center Domantas Sabonis when he is able to return.
