Kings center Maxime Raynaud injures right knee in preseason game

Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud injured his right knee during a preseason game against the Golden State Warriors.

The injury happened late in the first half as he set a screen and players collided.

Raynaud was in pain and was taken to the locker room in a wheelchair, then seen using crutches.

The Kings ruled him out of the game, but have not announced an official diagnosis or recovery timeline.

Team sources said there was concern he could be out for the foreseeable future.

Raynaud made the NBA All-Rookie second team last season after averaging 12.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

He was expected to back up starting center Domantas Sabonis, so his absence could affect the Kings’ frontcourt plans.
