Warriors and Brandin Podziemski agree to five-year, $110 million extension

The Golden State Warriors and guard Brandin Podziemski have agreed to a five-year, $110 million contract extension.

The fully guaranteed deal includes a mutual option in its final season, 2031-32, and a trade kicker.

Podziemski is 23 and was selected by Golden State with the 19th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Last season, he played all 82 games and averaged a career-high 13.8 points per game.

The extension avoids restricted free agency next summer, when other teams could have made offers for him.

Its first season is expected to pay him $18.9 million, and the deal helps the Warriors manage their salary space.

Podziemski enters his fourth season with Golden State as its starting shooting guard next to Stephen Curry.
