Turkey lists 14 sausage firms over food rule violations

Turkey’s Agriculture and Forestry Ministry published updated food inspection findings on 12 October 2026.

The list names 14 sausage firms among those linked to violations.

Tests of beef and chicken sausages found ingredients including poultry, head meat, mechanically separated meat and offal.

The findings also included tongue and gizzard in some products, while pide filling was another meat product flagged.

Other products had different reported issues: starch was found in tulum cheese made in Elazığ, and food dye in rosehip vinegar made in Konya.

In pistachio baklava, inspectors found sunflower seeds used instead of pistachios, as well as food dye.

The ministry made the findings public alongside the relevant brands, covering products beyond meat.

The sources do not say what action, if any, will follow.
