Brisbane 2032 chief executive Cindy Hook to leave early next year

Cindy Hook will leave her job as chief executive of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games organising committee early next year.

She was appointed in December 2022, and her departure will come at the end of her four-year contract.

The committee says it will begin a global search for a replacement immediately.

Hook said she had built the organisation and laid the groundwork for the Games.

The committee is moving from early planning and building its capabilities to delivering projects and events.

Its president, Andrew Liveris, said Hook had prepared the organisation for this next stage.

The change comes more than five years before the Games, which are due to take place in Brisbane in 2032.
