Rasmus Dahlin leaves Sabres game with upper-body injury

Rasmus Dahlin, a defenceman for the Buffalo Sabres, left Monday’s game against the Florida Panthers with an upper-body injury.

He went to the bench gingerly early in the second period after a shot on goal was stopped by Florida goaltender Jacob Markstrom.

Dahlin did not return, but scored a power-play goal before leaving.

Buffalo led 2-1 at the time.

Dahlin had one goal and four points in six games this season and averaged more than 26 minutes of ice time entering Monday’s game.

Last season, he finished third in Norris Trophy voting after scoring 19 goals and 74 points in 77 games.

The Sabres are scheduled to begin a three-game road trip Tuesday, with games against Montreal twice and Toronto.
