The Equalizer Is Now Streaming on Netflix
The Equalizer, a 2014 action film directed by Antoine Fuqua, is now streaming on Netflix.
Denzel Washington plays Robert McCall, a quiet employee at a Boston hardware store and a former soldier.
McCall spends his evenings reading at a diner, where he gets to know a teenage regular played by Chloë Grace Moretz.
When she runs into trouble with the Russian mob, he returns to the dangerous life he had left behind to protect her.
The film draws on an 1980s television series, though its central character differs from the show's private detective.
McCall uses careful planning and objects around him to fight his opponents, including in a final confrontation at the hardware store.
Its arrival on Netflix gives viewers a chance to watch or revisit the film.
