Tubi to Release R.L. Stine’s ‘The Babysitter’ Adaptation in 2027

Tubi plans to release a live-action film based on R.L. Stine’s The Babysitter in 2027.

The story follows 16-year-old Jenny, who takes a babysitting job to earn money for a writing program.

A prowler is terrorizing girls in town, and Jenny begins receiving threatening phone calls.

When a dangerous fugitive appears, she grows suspicious of the people around her as danger draws closer.

Stine’s book series began in 1989 and includes four novels centered mainly on Jenny and frightening babysitting experiences.

Trevor Calverley will direct the film, and Jem Garrard will write and executive produce it.

The film is part of Tubi’s ongoing work adapting Stine’s horror stories; the next step stated is its planned 2027 release.
