USAID cuts ended Nepal climate programs before deadly floods
U.S.-funded projects in Nepal supported flood warnings and other ways to prepare for climate risks.
They ended in January 2025 after the U.S. government halted foreign aid projects.
A glacier collapse later triggered a deadly flood that affected more than 17,000 children.
The projects could not have stopped the flood, but officials say they might have reduced the damage.
