Two train drivers injured in separate stone-throwing incidents near Tuni and Samalkot

Two train drivers were injured in separate stone-throwing incidents near Tuni and Samalkot on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

One incident involved the Mahabubnagar–Visakhapatnam Express near Tuni railway station at about 4:50 a.m.

A stone broke the train’s windscreen and hit driver Bhima Sur.

In the other incident, stones were thrown at a goods train near Samalkot at about 1:30 a.m., injuring driver K.G. Eshwar Rao in the head.

Railway officials gave both drivers first aid, and the injuries were described as minor.

The person suspected in the Samalkot incident was reportedly taken into custody.
