Real Madrid beat Villarreal 1-0 as Vinicius is sent off

Real Madrid beat Villarreal 1-0 in a LaLiga match at the Bernabéu.

The result gave Madrid the win, while Villarreal’s coach said it was frustrating to leave without points.

Vinicius Jr was sent off after grabbing an opponent by the hair when the ball was not in play.

He apologized to his team and the fans in a social media post.

The referee’s report described the incident as aggressive and said teammates had to hold Vinicius back.

That account could put his availability for the next Clásico at risk, though no final decision is given.

The sending-off also drew anger from Madrid supporters and criticism from Vinicius, who shared a post claiming similar incidents had been judged differently.
