Google Translate rolls out automatic saving for Live Translate transcripts

Google is rolling out an automatic transcript-saving option for Live Translate in its Translate app.

Live Translate translates conversations as they happen.

The new option saves the transcript when a translation session ends, so users do not have to save it manually.

The rollout is for mobile users and is included in Google Translate version 10.39.34.995726622.4.

Transcript saving will be disabled when Live Translate is used through connected smart glasses, to protect other people’s privacy.

The app also indicates that wearers can start translation on glasses with a voice command and end it with a swipe on the frame’s touchpad.

Google has not given a timeline for the glasses features.
