Apple is expected to unveil new smart home devices at New York event
Apple is holding its first dedicated smart home event in New York City on October 13.
The company has not said what it will announce.
Bloomberg reports that Apple plans to show a smart home display alongside updated versions of the HomePod Mini and Apple TV.
The display is reportedly designed to control connected devices such as locks and thermostats, and could support video calls and personalized information.
Apple is also expected to introduce homeOS built around its newer Siri AI, which could give the display a more capable voice assistant.
Amazon and Google have already brought generative AI to their home assistants, but both have faced challenges, and Apple’s own effort is still unproven.
