Tsui Hark pays tribute to Nansun Shi at Lyon film festival
Hong Kong filmmaker Tsui Hark paid tribute to producer Nansun Shi at a masterclass in Lyon, France.
Shi, his former wife and longtime producing partner, died in July at age 75.
They co-founded Film Workshop in 1984 and continued working together after their divorce.
Tsui is in Lyon for a retrospective of his films and a masterclass about his career.
He said he is working on a comedy in London about people from different cultures facing a serious problem together.
He also discussed how advertising, political propaganda, the internet and artificial intelligence can shape people’s beliefs and make it harder to tell what is real.
Tsui said he does not know what the next five years will bring.
