Geneva film festival announces 2026 programme of more than 113 works

The Geneva International Film Festival will run from October 30 to November 8, with more than 113 works from 46 countries.

Its programme includes films, series and immersive works, with 80 Swiss, international and world premieres.

The festival opens with Tangles, an animated family drama about Alzheimer’s, and closes with the action comedy Arrested Memory.

Ten films will compete for the Reflet d’Or, including works by filmmakers from France, Romania, Iran, Palestine and Thailand.

The wider programme also includes international series, immersive projects and films focused on social, environmental, political and technological issues.

Mira Nair and Fanny Herrero will be special guests, each with a retrospective and an on-stage talk.

This edition follows a leadership change in August, while co-director Emilie Bujès’ first fully programmed edition is planned for 2027.
