A proposed ideal Pixel combines features from earlier Google phones
A writer has sketched an ideal Google Pixel by combining features from older Pixel phones.
The proposal includes the first Pixel’s unlimited Google Photos storage for original-quality files, a perk still available to eligible Pixel 1 users.
It also brings back Active Edge, the Pixel 2 feature that let users squeeze the phone to launch Google Assistant or silence alerts.
The writer favors the Pixel 4’s soft-touch matte back and the Pixel 5’s rear fingerprint sensor, and also wants a headphone jack.
These are the writer’s preferences, not a newly announced Google phone.
The idea reflects trade-offs in phone design, such as durable, comfortable materials and useful features versus the choices manufacturers make in newer models.
The writer says unlimited photo storage could help Pixels compete, but does not describe any plan to build or release this proposed phone.

His proposed phone would include unlimited Google Photos storage, Active Edge, a matte back panel and a rear fingerprint sensor.
Gilbert also said the phone should have a headphone jack.
He argued that the selected features would improve storage, gesture controls and the experience of holding the phone.
