PT leader reaffirms support for Raúl Morón in Michoacán
Reginaldo Sandoval, a leader of Mexico’s Labor Party (PT), reaffirmed the party’s support for Raúl Morón in Michoacán.
Morón is seeking a role in the political process linked to the state, while Morena has named Carlos Torres Piña as its coordinator there.
That appointment did not go to Morón and has caused tension between Morena and the PT.
Sandoval said the coalition’s internal decisions are not final and that negotiations and deadlines remain open.
The PT says its members and local structures are ready to organize and meet people across the state.
Sandoval said the party would remain organized and close to residents as the process moves toward its November stage.
Reginaldo Sandoval Flores, the Labor Party’s political commissioner in Michoacán, reaffirmed support for Raúl Morón Orozco to seek the coalition’s candidacy in the state.
Sandoval said the internal process had not concluded and that the party’s members and structures were ready to campaign.
The statement came after Morena formally named Carlos Torres Piña as its elected coordinator for Michoacán instead of Morón.
The state PT leadership publicly objected to that appointment and said its members would pursue their own mobilization.
Sandoval said the party would remain organized and close to residents ahead of the November stage.
