Twelve arrested in investigation into two killings linked to drug trafficking near Dijon

Twelve people were arrested early this week in connection with two killings near Dijon, France.

The victims were an ambulance worker shot outside his home in Marsannay-la-Côte and a man killed in a Dijon shooting three days later, in September 2025.

The arrests followed a year-long investigation and took place in five French departments: Côte-d’Or, Yonne, Oise, Var and Haute-Garonne.

Investigators suspect those involved had different roles, including carrying out the killings, driving or organising them.

Authorities say the killings were tied to a rivalry between local drug traffickers and groups from other cities competing over drug-selling locations in Dijon.

A gun and ammunition were seized, and 15 people are now under formal investigation in the two cases.

The arrests do not establish guilt.
