Drone attack shuts down Yandex data centre in Russia’s Vladimir region

A drone attack damaged a Yandex data centre in Russia’s Vladimir region, east of Moscow.

Yandex says the facility has been completely shut down and no one was injured.

Emergency services and company specialists are at the site assessing the damage.

Some Yandex services are unavailable, and the company says its cloud platform is operating in emergency mode.

It has advised customers to switch to backup systems and warned that technical support may also be disrupted.

The shutdown follows attacks on two other Yandex data centres in the past week, in the Kaluga region and in Sasovo.

The incidents come amid escalating attacks by Russia and Ukraine on technology infrastructure.

Yandex says it is assessing how to restore its systems.
