PLS Group and Zip compared as potential high-growth ASX shares

PLS Group, formerly Pilbara Minerals, is an Australian lithium company with its main project in Western Australia and another project in Brazil.

Zip is a financial technology company whose buy now, pay later services operate in 12 countries.

The comparison considers whether either company could deliver very large returns for investors.

It lists similar price-to-earnings ratios, but says the companies work in different industries, so those figures may not be directly comparable.

PLS Group reported a 1.31% fully franked dividend yield, while Zip paid no dividend and said it was reinvesting in expansion and product development.

By 7 October 2026, PLS shares were down about 8.5% for the year and Zip shares were down about 37.1%.

Those declines highlight the risks and volatility facing both companies, particularly Zip's sharp fall.

The comparison does not provide a final conclusion about which share is the better buy.
