Harvey Norman looks better value than Temple & Webster in comparison

Temple & Webster and Harvey Norman are Australian retailers whose shares have both dropped this year.

Temple & Webster sells furniture and homewares online, while Harvey Norman sells a wider range of goods through stores and also owns property.

The comparison says Temple & Webster’s shares were down 68.8% year to date, against a 37.7% fall for Harvey Norman, using figures up to 7 October 2026.

It lists Temple & Webster’s price-to-earnings ratio at 123.05, compared with 9.56 for Harvey Norman.

Harvey Norman also had a dividend yield of about 6.8%, while Temple & Webster paid no dividend.

The comparison favours Harvey Norman for value investors, but gives no forecast or next step for either company.
