Profeco suspends Puebla restaurant over drink information and tipping practices
Profeco found that the restaurant did not state how much its drinks contained and used practices that pushed customers to pay tips.
Tips must be voluntary, and customers should be able to see what they are buying.
The agency put suspension seals on the restaurant, temporarily stopping its sales and services.
The inspection followed a customer’s complaint, but her account of a billing dispute and alleged insults has not been resolved.
