V800 remains on sale after brake-pedal bracket failures in tests

A video showed the brake-pedal bracket breaking on all three V800 vehicles during a braking test.

The automaker said no such failures had occurred in customers’ use and promised to improve the part and offer owners a free upgrade.

Beijing stores said the model remained on sale and they had not received requests to return it.

Whether the test revealed a safety defect, and whether a recall is needed, has not been settled.
