Citroën unveils electric 2CV concept, with a target price below €15,000

Citroën has unveiled a modern, fully electric version of its classic 2CV at the 2026 Paris Motor Show in Paris.

The 3.76-metre concept previews a production car that the company expects around 2028.

Citroën says the future model will start at €15,000 before any subsidies.

The company aims to make it an affordable small car, rather than position it as a more upmarket retro model.

Its rounded shape and several design details recall the original 2CV, which was first presented in 1948 and remained in production until 1990.

The simple interior also nods to the original car’s practical brief, including storage shaped to hold eggs.

The concept is electric and produces no emissions while driving; Citroën has not provided further details about the production model in the available information.
