Australia field oldest men’s Test XI, with all 11 players aged 30 or older
Australia picked a team for the first Test against South Africa in which every player was at least 30.
It was the oldest XI in the history of Australian men’s Test cricket.
The team’s average age was 34.59.
The record highlights how much Australia relied on experienced players, while leaving no player in his 20s in the starting team.
