Three men jailed pending trial over alleged fake-cigarette factory in Mexico

Authorities say the factory made and packaged counterfeit cigarettes.

A judge ordered three men to face trial and remain in pretrial detention; they have not been convicted.

Officials seized 60 tonnes of fake cigarettes and production equipment.

Investigators estimated the operation caused losses of 225 million to 330 million pesos to the illegal market.
