Peugeot concept previews electric-only E-208 due in 2027
Peugeot has unveiled the E-T16, an electric concept inspired by its 205 T16 rally car.
It has three electric motors and more than 800 horsepower, according to Peugeot, but those figures are for the concept.
The design and cabin offer clues to the next-generation E-208, a small electric hatchback expected in 2027.
Peugeot plans to sell that electric model alongside the current hybrid 208.
The concept’s Hypersquare steering controller uses steer-by-wire, which removes the mechanical link between the steering wheel and the front wheels.
Peugeot says the controller is intended for production, but the final E-208 specifications have not been confirmed.
The new car will compete with models including the Renault 5, Volkswagen ID.
Polo and Cupra Raval.
