Mihawk OS aims to run Windows games on jailbroken PS5 consoles

A developer known as Mihawk is working on software to run Windows games on jailbroken PS5 consoles.

The project, called Mihawk OS, is intended to support both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows games.

The PS5 must be jailbroken, a process that can limit access to PlayStation servers and put a user’s account at risk.

Mihawk has also run RetroArch on the console, and a video appears to show the game Hades running within Windows.

How well other games will perform is still unknown, so the project’s practical use is not yet clear.

If it works well, the PS5 could become a way to play some Windows games without relying on cloud streaming.

Mihawk says development is progressing, but no release date or further testing details are given.
