Sony Announces Japan-Only Midnight Black PlayStation 5

Sony has announced a matte-black PlayStation 5 Digital Edition for Japan.

The console and its included DualSense controller have a matte-black finish.

It will go on sale in Japan on Nov.

19 for ¥55,000.

This is the lower-priced, region-specific PS5 Digital Edition that Sony previously introduced in Japan, now offered in a new color.

The console has no built-in disc drive, so players who want to use physical games must buy one separately.

Sony will also sell a matching Midnight Black disc drive in Japan for ¥11,980.

The new edition is confirmed only for Japan, while Sony already sells black covers for other PS5 consoles.
