Stellum seeks up to €460 million for three new investment funds

Stellum Capital, a private equity firm based in San Sebastián, plans to raise up to €460 million through three new funds.

Its second growth fund is expected to launch next year and aims to raise €200 million to €250 million.

The other funds will focus on food and technology, and on start-ups, with targets of up to €150 million and €60 million.

Together, the funds could bring the firm’s assets under management to about €650 million to €700 million.

Stellum has so far focused on the Basque Country and Navarra, and now plans to look for investments in Portugal and southern France as well.

The firm says it wants companies to grow while keeping their decision-making and leadership in the places where they are based.

Stellum also plans to seek funding for its growth fund through an ICO programme for investment funds.

For us, rootedness means ensuring that the decision-making centre, the managers and the executive team remain where the company is, and that from there it can buy a foreign company or open a factory abroad.
