BBVA, Santander and Inditex to distribute over €6.5 billion to shareholders

Three major Spanish companies will distribute more than €6.5 billion to shareholders in dividends over the coming weeks.

BBVA will pay €0.37 per share on 15 October, its largest interim dividend on record, for a total of about €2 billion.

Santander and Inditex are scheduled to make their payments on 2 November.

Santander plans to pay €0.127 per share in cash, with about €1.8 billion going to dividends and a similar amount to a share buyback.

Inditex will pay a total of €0.875 per share, amounting to €2.727 billion.

These payments are part of how the companies return money to shareholders, alongside other forms of distribution such as Santander’s buybacks.

Investors must hold Inditex shares before 28 October to qualify for its dividend.
