Beijing sets plan to strengthen intellectual property through 2035

Beijing has issued a plan to develop its intellectual property system during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Intellectual property includes protections for creations and inventions, and the plan aims to make it a stronger part of economic development.

By 2030, Beijing wants to be a leading city for intellectual property services, dispute resolution, industry support and international cooperation.

It also aims to raise the city’s overall strength and global influence in this field.

By 2035, Beijing plans to integrate intellectual property more deeply with its modern economy and become an international centre for innovation, expertise and resources.

The city’s intellectual property agencies will now coordinate implementation and identify examples of how the plan can support businesses and development.
