Upper Galilee music festival returns with concerts honoring those killed
The Voice of Music Festival will take place at Kibbutz Kfar Blum in Israel’s Upper Galilee from October 29 to November 1.
It is returning to its full schedule for the first time since early 2023, after moving to Tel Aviv in 2024 while the north was under fire from Hezbollah.
One concert will remember festival photographer Ofer Moskovitz, who was killed by friendly fire at his home in Kibbutz Misgav Am.
Another performance will honor 12 children killed in a rocket strike on a soccer pitch in Majdal Shams in July 2024.
The program also includes performances by pianist Shlomi Shaban and singer Nurit Galron, as well as new compositions.
A separate concert series, the Hatikvah Project, will bring 13 Israeli orchestras to nine locations from October 21 to 28 to mark the third anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attack.
Both events are intended to bring music to communities across Israel.

What people are saying
When I build the festival program, I feel a threefold responsibility: to the audience, to the musicians, and to that abstract entity we call music.
As from its very beginning, the Hatikvah Project is being carried out in response to an enduring, deep need for comfort and mental healing among the people of Israel and throughout the Jewish Diaspora.
