Slovakia says winter gas needs are covered by supplies and storage
Slovakia says it has enough gas for people’s needs this winter.
Supplies will come from a long-term contract with Gazprom, other contracts and gas in storage.
The country is also looking for alternatives to Russian oil and gas from 2028.
That matters because Slovakia expects it will need other sources and delivery routes.

Economy Minister Denisa Sakova cited a long-term contract with Gazprom, short-term diversification contracts and sufficient stored gas.
Storage held enough fuel to generate 16.8 terawatt-hours of electricity, according to Slovak media.
The country’s target inventory, enough to generate 17.5 terawatt-hours, was expected to be reached by mid-October.
