Sánchez and Feijóo predict strong support ahead of Spain’s November 29 election
Spain’s next election is scheduled for November 29.
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and People’s Party leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo discussed the vote at the royal palace reception after the October 12 military parade.
Sánchez said he sees progressive voters mobilising more strongly than in 2023, at a level he has not seen since 2019.
He said voters understand why the election was called early.
Feijóo said his party would not give up on any vote before polling stations close.
He predicted the People’s Party would win more than 8 million votes, at least matching its 2023 result, even if Vox gains support in 2026.
The election will show whether either leader’s expectations are borne out.
