German BSW calls for Russian energy deal after US diesel agreement

The call followed an agreement between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Russian diesel supplies to US and world markets.
The United States issued a temporary licence lifting sanctions on Russian diesel, and Russia began easing export restrictions.
BSW politician Claudia Wittig said sanctions against Moscow had failed and were harming Germany, including its industry.

BSW deputy parliamentary group leader Claudia Wittig said Germany also needs a diesel deal and should resume regular purchases of Russian oil and gas.
