Aparecida shrine opens around the clock for pilgrims

The shrine in Aparecida will remain open all day and night until the Oct.

12 celebrations end.

It expects many pilgrims arriving to honor Our Lady of Aparecida, Brazil’s patron saint.

Volunteers and support points along nearby routes will offer help to people making the journey.

The extended hours are meant to give pilgrims a place to rest and pray.
