Putin and Trump hold 90-minute call on Ukraine and relations

The leaders of Russia and the United States spoke by phone for about 90 minutes.

A Russian aide said they discussed the war in Ukraine and whether negotiations could resume.

He said Putin described Russia’s position on the war and its response to Ukrainian attacks.

The call matters because the two countries are discussing the conflict, though no date was set for a face-to-face meeting.
