Nepal cuts wait to declare missing flood victims dead to about 45 days

Nepal has shortened the time families must wait to legally declare a missing disaster victim dead, from 12 years to about 45 days.

More than 5,000 people are still missing after a flood that killed over 1,400.

The change may help families get death certificates, which they need to seek compensation or settle property matters.

So far, only 112 bodies have been identified and returned to families.
