Coalition reportedly agrees to sugar tax from July 2027
The tax would apply to companies that bottle more than 70,000 litres of sugary drinks each year.
A higher annual volume limit of one million litres still needs EU review.
The tax is planned to start on July 1, 2027, later than first proposed.
Smaller producers would be exempt, while large companies could face costs that may make their drinks more expensive.
