Investigators find thousands of BND documents at former chief’s home

Investigators found about 2,000 to 3,000 BND documents at former agency chief August Hanning’s home.

Some were reportedly highly secret, and they dated as late as 2022.

An internal review pointed to a former aide who had broad access to the agency’s files.

Investigators are still checking how the documents got out and whether the leak stopped in 2022.
