Mother questions conflicting accounts of Russian researcher’s death
A researcher who worked at a plague institute in Irkutsk died in a hospital near the city.
Early reports said she had plague, while Russia’s disease-control agency said she had pneumonia of unknown cause.
Her mother says she does not believe the explanations, but has not detailed her own theory.
The WHO has asked for more information about the death.
