China allocates 550 billion yuan in local government debt limits

China has set aside 550 billion yuan in borrowing limits for local governments.

Of that, 300 billion yuan is for county and district budgets, and 250 billion yuan is for areas with projects needing funds.

The money is meant to help pay for public services and investment, including infrastructure.

The ministry says it wants the funding to reach projects quickly.
