Reports find conflicting accounts of CDU votes in Saxony-Anhalt election

Tobias Rausch of the AfD was elected president of Saxony-Anhalt’s state parliament in a secret vote.

The official result recorded five abstentions.

But at least 10 CDU lawmakers told newspapers they had abstained.

Their accounts cannot all match the result, and the CDU has not asked its lawmakers to clarify how they voted.
