UAE says Flydubai co-pilot planned attack inspired by 9/11

The UAE attorney general says the co-pilot tried to take control of a Flydubai flight and attack the passenger terminal in Tel Aviv.

He reportedly told investigators that he was inspired by the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Investigators say he had surveyed the route and airport on two earlier flights.

They are still checking his claim that he acted alone and looking for possible links to others.
