Riyadh airport hit again after deadly Houthi attack
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was hit by a projectile on Sunday, causing a fire and injuries, officials said.
It was the second attack on the airport in two days.
Saturday’s strike killed 13 people and injured hundreds, according to reports from Saudi officials.
Yemen’s Houthi group claimed responsibility for the attacks and warned airlines and travellers not to use Saudi airports or airspace.
The Houthis say they are targeting Saudi Arabia because it supports government forces in Yemen’s civil war.
Saudi air defences intercepted a missile near the airport, while officials assessed the damage and checked the safety of its facilities.
The attacks have drawn condemnation from the UN, the EU and several countries, and the UN envoy for Yemen said they threaten regional security and peace efforts.
