Retirement plan participation and savings rose among US families

More US families took part in retirement plans in 2025 than in 2022.

Among families with retirement accounts, the median balance rose to $106,000.

Savings increased for most age groups, though average balances fell for people under 35.

The figures show how retirement saving changed, but do not mean every family has enough saved.
