Goyang reports no safety accidents at major concerts this year

Goyang, a city in South Korea, says there were no safety accidents at major concerts held at Goyang Stadium this year.

The concert season ended on Oct.

11 with a performance by Charlie Puth.

Other shows included performances by BTS, Big Bang, Lim Young-woong and The Weeknd, drawing tens of thousands of people.

To manage crowds, the city coordinated with police, firefighters and event organizers through a joint on-site control center.

Staff monitored busy areas, guided people along alternative routes and managed departures in stages, especially after shows ended.

These steps aimed to prevent crowd accidents as large numbers of people left at once.

The city says it will use its experience to strengthen safety arrangements for future large concerts.

What people are saying

We will continue to improve our safety management system for major performances based on accumulated on-site experience and do our utmost to ensure the safety of citizens and visitors.
